Good late evening and Welcome to my First TV Show Review, these will be Different from the Weekday Reviews of Movies in that There's only 1 on the Weekends given their Length of View Time. Anywho, needless to say, Tomorrow Night's Entry will just by my Diary. Excuse my Unkept Hair, I had a bit of a Bad Dream, needless to say, I'll be taking a Piping Hot Shower after this. Okie Dokie let's Start the Review.
I may be a bit Biased as I'm quite Fond of this Show, I remember in 2016 at The Wayne County Public Library, I'd Borrow the Various Seasons for Weeks on end, we didn't have Home Internet around that time so I'd often go to the Library to Borrow Books and DVDs. I also used to use the Internet to check on my Glandular and Saw Palmetto orders alongside Strategy Guides. I was drawn to this Show in Particular because of it's Dysfunctional Family Dynamics, coming from my Background it was Really Relatable.
So the Seasons start out Relatively Tame, Marie is partially Controlling and Debra has a Relatively Tame Temper. Robert isn't as Pathologically Jealous of Raymond as he would be in Later Seasons. The Family's Negative Traits Amplify with the Following Seasons as well. Frank was one of the 2 that Never really Changes, he's the Classic TV Dad like Al Bundy. It was quite Common for such Characters to Exist in Sitcoms, According to Jim rose to Fame because of that Trope.
The Kids in the Show start out relatively Happy, however even they have their Moments like the Episodes where Aly ends up having a Crush on a Student in her Math Class and it leads to her getting a Failing Grade and there's the Episode where Michael refuses to go to School by Pretending to be Sick, all things Considering they're actually Relatively Normal compared to the Adults.
There are other Families as well such as Debra and Amy's Parents who happen to have Issues of their Own, But they are in Fewer Episodes, then there's Amy's Brother who is well he's not very Aspirational.
Now for the Star of the Show, Raymond, he is a Talented Writer however he's Extremely Entitled and often acts like a Child half the Time. He seems to have a bit of an Oedipus Complex as well which seems to be the Reason why he has an Unhappy Marriage, in a Season 9 Episode him, Frank and Robert were Supposed to go to Therapy, however they ended up Betting on Horses instead.
I'm sure your questioning why I like this Show despite these Characters being a Mess, well it's because of the Realism of it. No Family is Perfect, in fact a Majority of Modern Families are plagued with Dysfunction. It's a Sad Reality but if you can Laugh at your Pain it Helps you Cope a lot Better. I believe that Attitude is Everything and those who don't Find Humor in Life often Aren't Happy with Life.
I'm gonna Take a Hot Shower and get some Rest. I'll write more in my Diary in the Morning.-Elizabeth
